Chinese graphite electrode market prices remained stable this week. It is understood that due to the recent continuous decline in the price of low-sulfur petroleum coke and the fact that some downstream steel mills of graphite electrodes have a small amount of stocks of graphite electrodes, downstream steel mills have a certain wait-and-see behavior in the purchase of graphite electrodes. The weekly transaction price of graphite electrode market is still slightly confused.
In terms of price: this week, the mainstream price of graphite electrodes in China with a diameter of 300-600mm: ordinary power 16000-18000 yuan/ton; high-power 18000-21500 yuan/ton; ultra-high power 21000-28000 yuan/ton; ultra-high-power 700mm graphite electrode 32000 -33,000 yuan/ton. China’s graphite electrode market price index is 22286, which is the same as that of the same period last week and the same period of last month. The price increased by 42.79% from the beginning of the year and 55.77% from the same period last year.
Demand side: China’s graphite electrode market demand side performance was slightly weak this week. According to feedback from some graphite electrode companies, the downstream steel mills of graphite electrodes were on the sidelines of graphite electrode purchases this week, and individual graphite electrode companies reported that their shipments were slowing down. However, the average start-up of the downstream circuit steel plants of graphite electrodes is still high, and the demand for graphite electrodes still exists.
